Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Sebestyen Papp from Budapest, Hungary has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Hungary beginning in fall 2026.

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Auburn University! I’m grateful for all the support from my family, friends and coaches through all these years. I want to thank Coach Ryan and Coach Vlad for this amazing opportunity. War Eagle!!!”

Papp represents Hungary at the international level and most recently swam to numerous wins at the Hungarian Youth Championship. He won the 100 back in a 55.89, 50 back in a 25.50, and the 100 free in a 50.35. All three swims marked personal best times.

Earlier this summer, Papp represented Hungary at the European Junior Championships. He finaled in the 50 back, finishing 8th in a 25.84. He also was 39th in the 100 back in a 57.63 and swam on Hungary’s boys 4×100 medley relay as well as the boys 4×100 free relay.

Papp’s Best LCM Times Are:

  • 50 back: 25.50
  • 100 back: 55.89
  • 100 free: 50.35
  • 200 free: 1:52.81

The Auburn men finished 8th out of 11 teams at the 2025 SEC Championships with 554.5 points, just behind LSU who had 579 points. Auburn went on to finish t-32nd at 2025 NCAAs with 14 points.

Based on his best times, Papp will look to boost the team’s backstroke group. It took a 46.75 to final in the 100 back at SECs, and the team only had one ‘A’ or ‘B’ Finalist as Nate Stoffle finished 5th in a 45.07. Stoffle just graduated so the team will have a new leader in the event this upcoming season. The 100 back was one of the team’s highest scoring events at they scored 34 individual points.

Papp will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Matthew Hamilton (sprint free/fly) and Mike Rice (sprint free).
