Summer Juniors Qualifier Charley Page-Jones Commits to UNLV

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Charley Page-Jones from Eugene, Oregon has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (UNLV) beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.

“It was a long journey, and I was excited to finally be able announce my commitment to swim at the University of Nevada Las Vegas! I’m excited to get to be a part of such and amazing community with such a positive atmosphere and coaching philosophy.”

Page-Jones swims for Team Eugene Aquatics-YMCA out of Eugene, OR. This fall, he attended the USA Swimming Boys National Select Camp and was selected based on his 100 freestyle long course time.

Over the summer, he earned multiple long course best times while at Santa Clarita Futures. Those times included the 100 freestyle (52.77), 200 freestyle (1:56.51), and 100 butterfly (56.05). He earned a spot in the finals in every event he swam and finished 15th in the 100 butterfly, 19th in the 100 freestyle, 22nd in the 50 freestyle, and 28th in the 200 freestyle.

He has continued his success into the fall and earned short course best times in the 50 freestyle (20.67) and 100 butterfly (48.87) at Winter Juniors West. His 100 butterfly best time gives him the Summer Juniors cut.

He began his senior year this fall at Churchill Alternative High School.

His best short course yards times are:

  • 100 butterfly: 48.87
  • 200 butterfly: 1:50.77
  • 50 freestyle: 20.67
  • 100 freestyle: 45.85
  • 200 freestyle: 1:40.72

UNLV is a public university located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The team is a member of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The team captured the 2021 WAC Conference title.

Based on his best times, Page-Jones has the potential to add to the team’s points at the conference level. His times would earn him a spot in the ‘A’ final of the 200 butterfly and the ‘B’ final of the 100 butterfly, 50 freestyle, and 200 freestyle.

Page-Jones will arrive on campus next fall as a member of the class of 2026. He will overlap with top 100 butterflier and sophomore George Ratiu for at least two years (three if he decides to take the fifth year allowed due to COVID-19). He also will overlap with the team’s best 200 butterflier, Panos Bolanos, for at least one year (two if he elects to take his COVID-19 fifth year).

Give it a rest. It’s clean, neat and out of his face. Look around the world-there’s more than this young mans’ hair to complain about. His bio shows he’s at an alternative school, not a military school – he can do what he wants.

Well he has only thrown 1 touchdown since Halloween, so I guess he decided to try his hand at another sport. Get him a piece of that ISL money.
