St. Francis to Open Season at Delaware, vs. Georgetown

LORETTO, Pa. – The Saint Francis women’s swimming team, led by Head Coach Rory Coleman, opens the 2015-16 season this weekend at Delaware. The Red Flash takes on the Blue Hens and Georgetown at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Red Flash competed at the same meet to begin the 2014-15 campaign, but fell 194-95 against Delaware and 217-74 against Georgetown.

SFU is coming off a 10-7 record in 2014-15, including 2-1 in conference play.

The Red Flash returns 13 members from last year and adds 12 newcomers.

Among the returnees is senior Catherine Rogers (Nokesville, Va./Seton School), who won the 50-yard Freestyle at the 2015 NEC Championships with a time of 23.39. Sophomore Katie Lafferty (Bremen, Ind./Bremen), a two-time NEC Swimmer of the Week selection, and junior Jessica Reilly also return after posting second place finishes in the 200-yard Freestyle and 100-yard Freestyle, respectively, at the NEC Championships.
