Sophie Haise, a current high school senior from Charlottesville, Virginia, has committed to swim for Division I George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Haise will graduate from Alleghany High School in spring 2021 and join the Patriots’ class of 2025.
Haise is a current year-round swimmer for the Atlantic Coast Athletic Club along with swimming for her high school team. The sprinter swam three races at the Virginia Senior Long Course Championships and is a three-time Virginia 5A State Championship qualifier. She placed 16th in the 50 freestyle earlier this year at the state championships.

While Haise wouldn’t have had any finals performances this year at the 2020 Atlantic-10 Conference Championships with the Patriots, her current best times would have put her in the top 10 for the 50 freestyle and 5th fastest in the 100 freestyle for the team.

At the A-10 Championships this year, the Patriots placed 8th as a team. Additionally, 5 team members were given CSCAA Scholar All-American honors and 3 were given NCAA Public Recognition awards.
