Scottish Youth Squad to be Challenged in Luxembourg

The Scottish Youth Squad will this weekend be competing at the Euro Meet in Luxembourg as part of this year’s National Programme. The competitive opportunity will likely prove to be a test for the youngsters aged between 14 and 16 as they compete against a high class field of senior athletes from across Europe.

The main focus for the group continues to be around developing and improving appropriate performance behaviours, with each athlete having specific process goals and outcomes to be achieved throughout the meet. National Coach, Alan Lynn highlights the need for youth swimmers to be exposed to senior level international competition. He said,

“This is a fantastic opportunity for some of our best up and coming swimmers to race in tough ‘out of the comfort zone’ competition and to use the experience to learn how to improve their swimming performance for the longer term. I’m sure that they, along with coaches will take on the challenge and enjoy every minute of it”.

The meet runs from 29th – 31st January and is being streamed live while the live stream itself can be found here: http://app.euromeet.lu/live.php
