Sancov Drops 1:45 200 IM/20.2 50 Free Double at Austin Sectionals – Day 4

The fourth and final day of the 2018 Speedo Super Sectionals in Austin, Texas, featured finals for only the men’s and women’s 200 IM and 50 free.

Highlands Ranch’s Delaney Smith won the women’s 200 IM in 2:01.50, splitting 26.68/30.38/35.32/28.81. Utah Valley’s Makayla Cazier took second in 2:20.52 (26.10/29.78/37.42/29.22), followed by Denver Swim Academy’s Ella Kirschke in 2:02.65 (26.72/30.40/36.44/29.09). The Terrapins’ Alexei Sancov continued his stellar meet, winning the men’s race in 1:45.85 (22.77/26.69/31.32/25.07). TOPS’ William Goodwin took second in 1:49, splitting 23.73/27.12/31.25/27.00. His teammate Ryan Peterson took third in 1:50.02 (24.18/27.84/32.11/35.89).

The Terrapins’ Jessica Larson won the women’s 50 free in 22.87, almost half a second ahead of TOPS’ second-place Anna Shaw, who went 23.22.  Pikes Peak’s Meredith Rees took third in 23.26. Alexei Sancov came back to win the men’s 50 as well, going 20.27. Colorado Springs’ Kyle Leach took second in 20.58, followed by South Metro’s Andrew Trepanier in 20.64.
