O’FALLON, Ill. – Tierney Kohl and Olivia Fox each won two events to lead the Saint Louis women’s swimming and diving team to a 156-127 victory over McKendree Saturday afternoon.
McKendree won the men’s meet 165-129.
Kohl won the 100 breast (1:05.95) and 200 breast (2:19.95), while Fox captured the 1-meter (225.83) and 3-meter (254.48) diving competitions.
Also winning for the Billiken women were Meghan Eng in the 200 back (2:05.61) and Sasha Jancekova in the 1000 free (10:37.35).
The Billiken men were led by Ben Mears, who claimed victory in 1-meter (277.58) and 3-meter (301.13) diving.
Additional winners for the men’s team were Logan Townsend in the 50 free (21.36), Tino Ferranti in the 100 breast (58.01), Zach Byars in the 200 back (1:53.05) and Benjamin Vaught in the 200 breast (2:10.03).
Up next for Saint Louis is a home tri-meet with Southwest Baptist and Rockhurst Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m.

O’FALLON, Ill. – The McKendree Women’s Swim and Dive team tallied up 16 total podium finishes in the dual meet against Saint Louis at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex on Saturday.
The first event of the day started off in dramatic fashion, with McKendree winning the 400-yard medley relay by three tenths of a second! Helena Kurtz, Beatriz Souza, Atzi Gomez and Tumi Macdonell turned in a time of 3:56.06 to start off on the right foot.
Jocelyn Zgola had a season-best performance of 10:37.93 in the 1000-yard freestyle claiming second place. She would go on to claim three more podium finishes, including two wins. They came in the 100-yard freestyle, which was also a season best time of 53.74, and then in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Kurtz, Macdonell, and Sarah Gormley, as they turned in a time of 1:37.29. Her other podium finish came in the 50-yard freestyle as she had a time of 25.14.
Luiza Dias claimed wins in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle, both with season best times of 1:55.58 and 5:09.95, respectively. Kurtz also added two individual wins to her total in the 100-yard backstroke and butterfly, with season-best times of 57.78 and 56.75, respectively.
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Souza, Chiara Fuerst, and Gormley took third, fourth, and fifth respectively. Gormley had a season best time in this event with 1:09.97.
Macdonell added to her medal total with a win in the 50-yard freestyle, with a time of 24.73. She also had a second-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle to bring her total to four on the day.
Gomez gained an individual podium finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.61. Souza swam a 2:28.15 to earn an individual podium finish in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Logan Wilson captured a win in the 400-yard individual medley, stopping the clock at 4:43.62.
Unfortunately, the team would come up short as the final score total was 127 to 156 in favor of Saint Louis.
Next, McKendree will be traveling to Columbia, Missouri for a tri-meet with the University of Missouri and Vanderbilt University on November 1st. The competition will be at 10 AM and will be held at the Mizzou Aquatic Center.
O’FALLON, Ill. – The McKendree Men’s Swim and Dive team racked up 27 total podium finishes in the dual meet against Saint Louis at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex on Saturday.
In the first event of the day, Caden Brooks, Atticus Sternke, Vova Gavrysh and Tyson Upton took first in the 400-yard medley relay finishing with a time of 3:22.07. Joining them on the podium was David Hammond, Patrick Cramer, Daniel de Oliveira and Phineas Theall claiming third place with 3:30.49 on the clock.
The 1000-yard freestyle saw Jakub Rynkiewicz finish in 9:28.71 with the next closest person being 18 seconds behind him. Noah Brereton earned a third-place finish in the event with a time of 9:46.43.
Gavrysh claimed his first of two individual wins in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:37.95. His other win came in the 500-yard freestyle with a division two best time of 4:32.83. Behind him on the podium for the 200-yard freestyle was Luis Villalobos Matson stopping the clock at 1:45.34.
Joey Ovanic swam a new season best in the 100-yard backstroke to win the event with a time of 51.28. Brooks was right on his heels with 51.58 to earn a second-place finish in the event. He would later gain another second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a season best time of 1:53.16.
Sternke also earned a new season best in the 100-yard breaststroke with 59.51 and a second-place finish.
Carson Olson captured his first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a new personal best of 1:55.01. Luke Ashbury got his podium finish in the event coming in right behind Olson with a time of 1:56.80.
De Oliveria swam a season best in both the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly with a time of 21.50 to earn second in the event and 49.79 to get his individual event win.
Upton obtained his individual win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 45.39, which was also a season best for him. Kandence Griffen got a third-place finish in the event with a time of 48.01.
Brooks, Rynkiewicz, and Brereton swept the podium in the 400-yard individual medley, gaining 16 points alone for the Bearcats.
Adin Peper and Finn Moseley competed in the one- and three-meter diving events. Peper totaled 384.23 points, and Moseley had 317.63 points on the day.
The team would win the meet with a score of 165 to 129.
