Russian Open Water Swimming 10K selects Team for European Champs

Russian open water swimmers competed in the Istra Resevoir on June 26th to contest their 10K national championships.  The top three men and women will represent Russia at the 2014 European championships in Berlin later this summer.  The men’s race was won by Evgeny Drattsev who finished the race in 1:55:17.3 second went to Sergey Bolshokov 1:55:21.6 and Daniel Serebrennikov was third in a time of 1:55:28.5

The women’s race Karapivina Anastasia crushed the field on the final lap winning the race by over a minute in a time of 2:06:03.5.  Second was Azarov Anastasia 2:07:13.0 and Elizabeth Gorshkova was third in 2:07:14.7.
