Russia Wins 2nd Synchro Gold at 2017 Worlds

2017 FINA WORLD AQUATICS CHAMPIONSHIPS – SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING

Russia picked up its 2nd synchro gold medal of the 2017 World Championships. Svetlana Kolsenichenko, who won solo technical routine gold on Saturday, paired with Alexandra Patskevich to win her second gold of the meet.

Duet Technical Final

This event has been held at each of the last 6 World Championships, since 2007, and Russia has won every one. Sunday’s result, however, was the first time that the margin-of-victory was less than 1 point. China, improving their score by more than a point from prelims to finals, scored 94.0775, just behind Russia’s winning 95.0515 for the closest finish in the history of this event.
