BOISE, Idaho – Four American records fell while 17-year-old Koehn Boyd (Ramsey, Minnesota; S10) was named Swimmer of the Meet for the third consecutive year on the final day of the 2026 U.S. Paralympics Swimming National Championships at Idaho Central Aquatic Center in Boise, Idaho.

Dillon Mezey (Colorado Springs, Colorado; S3) finished his incredible weekend in the water, setting three additional S3 American records during prelims before improving two of those marks in the finals on the last day of competition. In the men’s 100-meter freestyle, Mezey lowered the American record to 1:53.92 in prelims before improving it again to 1:53.23 in the finals. He continued his dominance in the 150 individual medley, lowering his own American record in the evening final with a time of 3:18.98. At just 14 years old, Mezey took Boise by storm, breaking five American records during the championships in the 50 butterfly, 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle and 150 individual medley.

Boyd capped his weekend with a gold medal in the men’s 200 individual medley and a silver medal in the men’s 100 freestyle. Boyd also accumulated the highest World Para Swimming points total of the meet, earning his third consecutive Swimmer of the Meet award and becoming the first athlete to accomplish the feat. He finished with 5,660 points, more than 1,000 ahead of the next-closest swimmer.

“The biggest takeaway for me from this meet is the performance – not only my performance, but everyone else’s,” said Boyd. “Whenever I see other swimmers doing their best and breaking their own records, it honestly gives me motivation. Yes, winning Swimmer of the Meet is an achievement, but my biggest win is being able to make all these connections and see everyone else win as well.”

Piper Sadowski (Grand Rapids, Michigan; S14) came up just short of another American record in the women’s 200 freestyle, touching the wall just 0.3 seconds off the national mark with a time 2:24.55. Evan Wilkerson (Wake Forest, North Carolina; S12) delivered one of his best swims of the weekend during the morning session of the final day, setting an American record in the men’s 200 backstroke. Wilkerson lowered the previous mark by just over half a second with a time of 2:21.12.

“It was amazing to be back with so many members of the national team and reconnect as we prepare for the Pan Pacific Championships,” said Paralympian Grace Nuhfer. “I loved meeting all the up-and-coming swimmers.  They remind you where you started and bring so much energy, which is helpful for those of us who have been around for a while. It was just so lovely to see everyone.”

To round out the final day, Leanne Smith (Salem, Muschettes; S9) took home her second gold medal in her second event of the weekend, winning the women’s 100 freestyle with a time of 1:27.46, while Noah Jaffe (Carlsbad, California; S8) finished his weekend winning the men’s 100 freestyle with a time of 59.20.
