Kevin Soltys, a senior at Prospect High School in Mount Prospect, Illinois, has announced his intention to swim at Lewis University beginning next fall.
“I chose Lewis because of how welcoming everyone there was to me. I am very excited to continue my swimming career at Lewis, and cannot wait to see where it takes me.”
Soltys competed at the 2020 IHSA Boys State Swimming and Diving Championships in his junior season. Hee qualified individually in the 100 back and with his Prospect High teammates in the 200 medley relay. In club swimming, where he represents REACH Aquatics Swim Club, he recently competed at 2021 NCSA Spring Championship in the 100 free, 50 back, and 100 back. He updated his lifetime bests in both backstrokes. Besides the PBs he notched in high school swimming in February 2020 (100 free, 50 back, 100 back, and 200 IM), all his best swims date from 2019. Those include the SCY 50 free, 200 back, and 100 fly, as well as all his LCM times (50/100/200 free, 50/100/200 fly, and 200 IM).
