Nothing too crazy transpired in the junior and B-final events this evening at the London Aquatic Centre, although there were some results worth noting as we await the medal-contending races, which will be coming shortly.
The junior final of the girls’ 100m fly saw Sheffield’s Phoebe Cooper grab the gold, hitting a time of 1:00.31.
Although that was slightly off her lifetime best of 1:00.10 from three years ago, it was enough to hold off her competitors, including Lydia Cordle of Repton and Eve Whitney of Tilehurst.
Cordle secured the junior final silver medal in 1:00.41 and Whitney rounded out the podium tonight in 1:00.49.
Of note, 23-year-old World Championships multi-medalist Medi Harris topped the B-Final of the women’s 100m fly, registering 59.43 as the sole athlete to clear the minute threshold.
Splitting 28.35/31.07, Harris produced the fastest time of her career, erasing her prior PB of 1:00.27 from the 2025 Edinburgh International Swim Meet.
Already a two-time Commonwealth Games qualifier from this meet, Max Morgan put up a time of 2:14.47 to win the junior 200m breaststroke final.
Morgan beat the pack by over three seconds, despite being two seconds outside his PB of 2:12.24, which earned him the ranking as the 18th-fastest British performer in history.
Finally, the B-Final of the 200m breast saw Northampton’s Harvey Freeman reach the wall first in 2:15.78.
That gave him just a .03 edge over NCAA swimmer Oscar Bilbao, who was relegated to silver medal status in 2:15.81.
Rory Dickerson was also just a hair behind, hitting 2:15.87 for the bronze in this final.
