Allison Pierce was the leading swimmer for the RedHawks this weekend at the Ohio State Invitational, capturing a first- and second-place finish. On Sunday, she earned her first collegiate win of her career by claiming a victory in the 200-yard butterfly. Her time of 2:04.31 was 1.37 seconds faster than her preliminary time (2:05.68) and 0.21 seconds faster than the second-place finisher from Kentucky. On Saturday, Pierce took second in the 100-yard butterfly (55.97). She touched the wall only 0.11 seconds after Purdue’s first-place finisher.

Dahman earned three fifth place finishes, including season-bests in the 100 butterfly (57.73), 200 IM (2:12.85) as well as in the 200 breaststroke (2:28.53). The Highlands Ranch, Colo. native also posted a 15th place finish overall in the 100 freestyle with a season-best 54.62 final. As a whole, Ball State had four participants in the Ohio State Winter Invitational, and the squad teamed up to post a 1:51.87 time for second in the 200 medley relay, followed by earning another second place finish in the 200 freestyle relay with a 1:40.21 final.

Sophomore Rosalie Yockey (DeWitt, Mich.-DeWitt) turned in a solid weekend at the Ohio State Invitational, Feb. 13-14, winning two events and claiming third in another while posting the fastest races of her young career. On Saturday, Yockey shaved more than three seconds off her preliminary time to best the MAC-heavy field, clocking in with a career-best time of 4:59.13. The DeWitt, Mich. product added another win to her weekend, Sunday, behind another career-best performance. Cutting down her prelim time by almost 40 seconds, Yockey crushed her previous career-best in the 1650 Free. Touching in with a time of 17:09.37, Yockey won the event. She closed out her weekend with a third-place finish in the 200 Individual Medley. After swimming the fastest prelim time of the field, Yockey finished less than a second behind the winner to take third. She finished with a time of 2:08.54, giving her another career-best on the weekend. Yockey’s weekend times also rank inside the MAC’s top-20 this season. In the 500 Free her time ranks 17th, while her 1650 Free mark is 11th best this season.
