The IX CIUTAT DE PALMA Open Swimming Trophy – XXVI Voltor Balear Swimming Club Trophy, organized by Voltor Balear Swimming Club, with the support of Palma City Council and the collaboration of IME Palma, will take place on February 7, 2026, at the Son Hugo Municipal Swimming Pools in Palma de Mallorca.

The competition will be held in a 50-meter indoor pool with 8 lanes and fully electronic timing, widely recognized as one of the fastest swimming pools in Spain and a regular venue for national championships and elite-level events. The trophy will be valid for national qualifying standards, making it an excellent opportunity for swimmers aiming to achieve high performance levels early in the season.

More than 300 swimmers from leading clubs across Spain are expected to compete, including teams such as CN Sabadell, Real Canoe NC, CN Terrassa and CN Leganés, together with the strongest clubs from the Balearic Islands. Previous editions of the Palma City Open have featured Olympic swimmers such as Sergio de Celis (Paris 2024) and Marc Sánchez (Rio 2016), as well as international medalists like Álex Castejón, a Mediterranean Games medalist in breaststroke, highlighting the event’s high competitive level.

The competition program includes a full schedule of individual events and relays, with special emphasis on the spectacular 50 m Freestyle SKINS races, contested in a fast-paced elimination format. In addition, the trophy offers attractive prize money based on the World Aquatics Points Table, with awards of up to €1,000 for the Best Swimmer, as well as specific prizes for SKINS winners and athletes holding a Balearic Swimming Federation license.

With high-level participation, excellent racing conditions and a strong prize structure, the Palma City Open continues to strengthen its position as a must-attend winter competition on the Spanish swimming calendar.
