LARAMIE, Wyo. – Northern Colorado swimming & diving earned a pair of wins in a strong three-team showing Saturday at the Laramie High School Pool, topping both Wyoming (140.5-121.5) and Colorado School of Mines (213-43) to open November competition.

The victories also marked a milestone moment for head coach Lisa Ebeling, who surpassed 50 career dual meet wins, making her the winningest coach in UNC’s Division I era.

The Bears opened the day with a commanding performance in the 400 medley relay, as Martina Yuki TrionfettiMaria ErokhinaEllyson Lombardi, and Kyra Rabess took first in 3:48.10. UNC’s “B” relay of Ariane BernierAvi TrompAgathi Manoli, and Vitoria Simioni followed closely in fourth (3:55.07), giving the Bears early momentum.

From there, Northern Colorado’s depth took over. Rabess claimed the 200 free (1:54.58) and later placed third in the 500 free (5:11.16). Trionfetti (25.79) led a strong Bears showing in the 50 back, while Erokhina (29.42) and Tromp (29.70) went 1-2 in the 50 breast.

Lombardi dominated the 200 fly in 2:04.16, with Diab (2:08.60) and Manoli (2:11.55) joining her in the top four for another near sweep. Erokhina doubled up with another win in the 200 breast (2:18.55), while Bernier earned runner-up honors in the 200 back (2:07.59).

In one of the meet’s highlights, Tromp won the 100 IM in 57.10, a time that qualifies her for the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, marking a national-level accomplishment.

On the boards, Mireya Ruiz (234.25) and Addison Campbell (228.05) finished third and fourth on 3-meter, with Violet Noel adding a fourth-place finish on 1-meter (223.10).

UNC closed out the day with a thrilling finish in the 200 free relay, as the team of Alexis Mishler, Simioni, Rabess, and Trionfetti clocked a winning time of 1:34.31, edging host Wyoming by less than half a second.

UP NEXT
Following the tri-meet in Laramie, the Bears will return home to host Cal Baptist before heading to Ohio for the Magnus Cup Invite on November 20.

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 1, 2025) – The University of Wyoming men’s swim and dive team won its dual against Colorado School of Mines, 193.5-65.5, while the Cowgirls split their duals with a win over Mines, 203-53, and a loss to Northern Colorado, 140.5-121.5, Saturday, at Laramie High School.

Wyoming would honor nine seniors: Berkeley ChristensenEllie FritscherAlicia GonzalezVeronika OzimekAnna RoeslerNatalie SixCollin DavisChristian Louie and Caleb Ozenne. Also recognized were Charlie Clark and Luke Slabber, who passed away in February of 2024.

COWBOYS
The Cowboys’ first event of the day was the 1-meter dive and Wyoming took the top three places. Sophomore Jonah Mann finished with 272.90 points, an improvement, for first, freshman Connor Liddle took second with an improved 265.95 points and junior Bruno Grau finished in third

The men’s first racing event was the 400-yard Medley Relay and the Cowboys went 1-2. The “A” team of junior Simon Casey, freshman Jackson Kogler, sophomore Gray Sisco and sophomore Luke O’Connor won with a time of 3:23.42. The “B” team was just behind them, coming in second with a time of 3:25.31.

In the 200-yard Freestyle, sophomore Andrew Cooper picked up a second-place finish with his time of 1:43.54, his first of the season.

Cowboys swept the Top 3 places in the 50-yard as Casey, junior Cameron Knox and freshman Edward Rhoe went 1-2-3. Casey touched the wall at 23.58, Knox at 23.85, an improvement, and Rhoe finished at 24.17.

In the 50-yard Breaststroke, sophomore Joe Morales won with a time of 25.99 while junior Griffith Orloff finished second at 26.09.

Sophomore Isaac Lee won the 200-yard Butterfly when he touched the wall at 1:53.66. He was closely followed by junior Adam Pannell in lane eight, coming in second with a time of 1:54.05, an improvement.

Knox one-upped his third place in the 50-yard Backstroke when he won the 200-yard IM. He would improve his season time to 1:56.36. Junior Derek Long would finish third at 2:01.01.

Casey and Kogler went 1-2 in the 200-yard Backstroke with times of 1:48.96 and 1:50.06, respectively.

In the 50-yard Butterfly, Sisco won with a time of 22.88 while freshman Jack Boysen touched the wall third at 23.14.

Orloff and Morales would combine for 13 points in the 200-yard Breaststroke. They would finish with times of 2:06.27 for first and 2:10.55 for second, respectively.

The final diving event of the day for the Cowboys was the 3-meter. Grau won with a season-best score of 305.95, his first over 300 this year. Second was Mann with a point total of 282.80, also an improvement.

Lee was victorious in the 500-yard Freestyle with a time of 4:37.56 while Long finished third and touched the wall at 4:47.41.

Wyoming took the Top 3 places in the 100-yard IM with Kogler winning at 50.25, Knox taking second with a time of 52.75 and senior Collin Davis finishing third at 53.05.

The Cowboys closed the meet finishing first and second in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay. The “A” squad of Casey, O’Connor, Rhoe and Sisco swam a time of 1:22.96.

COWGIRLS
The 3-meter dive started Wyoming’s day on Saturday. Cowgirl seniors Alicia Gonzalez and Natalie Six finished in first and second, respectively. Gonzalez improved her score from yesterday, finishing with 306.10 points while Six also improved to a point total of 238.05.

The first event of the day in the pool was the 400-yard Medley Relay. The Cowgirl “A” team of freshman Raiden Harris, junior Taylor Craft, junior Sophie Nutter and junior Tara Joyce took second with a time of 3:50.36, to add four team points.

Senior Ellie Fritscher took second in the 200-yard Freestyle with a season-best time of 1:56.28. She was the only Cowgirl in the Top 3.

Harris picked up another second place in the 50-yard Backstroke with her time of 26.93. Senior Veronika Ozimek finished in third with a time of 27.25.

In the 200-yard Butterfly, Nutter picked up four team points with her second-place finish of 2:08.47.

Back on the boards, Gonzalez won with an improved score of 282.75 while Six finished second at 254.60 points, also an improvement.

Joyce won the 200-yard IM with her time of 2:07.56 while Harris picked up a victory in the 200-yard Backstroke at 2:06.27.

Sophomore Taylor Cureton won her first individual race this season with her time of 25.36 in the 50-yard Butterfly.

Sophomore Macey Hansen won the 500-yard Freestyle with a time of 5:06.31 and was shortly followed by freshman Isabelle Henderson in second with a time of 5:09.34.

The last individual race of the day saw Joyce taking second in the 100-yard IM. She would finish with a time of 58.09.

The Cowgirl “A” team in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay would only finish second. Joyce, Harris, Cureton and junior Tessa Bendokas would combine for a time of 1:34.70.

UP NEXT
Wyoming will leave the Rocky Mountains for the first time this season and head south to compete at the Missouri Invite, Nov. 19 -22, in Columbia, Mo.

LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Colorado School of Mines men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams wrapped their action at Laramie High School on Saturday afternoon.

The men’s head-to-head dual with Wyoming resulted in a 193.5-65.5 margin in favor of the Cowboys. Mines’ women had a tri meet against Wyoming and Northern Colorado. Both NCAA Division I programs prevailed over the Orediggers. A final score of 203-53 was the tally between Mines and the hosts. Northern Colorado grabbed a 213-43 decision.

Despite the margins, Mines still had plenty of highlights. For the men, Charlie Krone won the 200-free with a time of 1:43.06, and Kazakin was third in 1:43.89. Joe Hutchinson grabbed bronze with a 26.73 in the 50-breast. Hoke added another third-place finish for Mines in the 200-fly by swimming 1:58.47. Bruno Albertoni was third in the 3-meter dive thanks to a score of 270.5. Fausto Angelone Lopez nabbed silver in the 200-IM at a 1:59.58 clip. Reid Wilkerson blazed a 1:57.23 in the 200-back which was good enough for third. It was silver for Jack Fulham in the 50-fly after a 23.13 finish. Angelone Lopez added another top-three finish in the 200-breast with a time of 2:17.53. Vladislav Kazakin continued his tear in the 500-free, taking silver in 4:43.07. Top-three finishes for the men were capped in the 200-freestyle relay where Dan BerkeKevin BurnsJack Fulham, and Charlie Krone teamed up for a 1:24.71.

On the women’s side, Michelle Murphy churned out a 1:58.47 in the 200-free. Jordan Tierney flew in the 50-breast, posting a time of 29.92. Anna Bream stood out in the 200-IM with her 2:12.22 pace. Bream struck again with silver and a time of 2:25.47 in the 200-breast. The final event of the day was the 200-freestyle relay where Tierney, Sophia CristalAbby Swanson, and Kylie VanderMeer went 1:38.85.

Mines will take a week off from racing before hosting Colorado College on Oct. 24. That date will also mark the official return of Oredigger diving. Free live results will be available at www.minesathletics.com/swimlive. Live video can be viewed with a subscription to the RMAC Network.
