NCSA Qualifier Courtney Barker Commits to Tulane

The Tulane women will be adding backstroke and sprint freestyle depth to their roster next season, as Courtney Barker has given her commitment to join the team next fall. Barker is a native of Illinois, where she trains with Scout Aquatics. She’ll be heading to Tulane after she graduates from Warren Township High School at the end of this school year.

“So excited that I have officially committed to swim for Tulane University! Can’t wait for the next four years. The coaches and team are amazing and the school has so much to offer academically.”

Barker’s Top Times:

  • 50 free- 23.53
  • 100 free- 51.80
  • 100 back- 56.02
  • 200 back- 2:03.20

Last season, Barker qualified to swim both of her individual events at the 2015 Illinois High School State Championships. At that meet, she swam a personal best 23.53 in the 50 free to place 8th overall and a speedy 56.18 in the 100 back to finish 6th in the championship final. She’s also an NCSA Junior Nats qualifier, as her personal best 56.02 in the 100 back is frim 2015 NCSAs.
