NCAA Relay Swimmer Diggory Dillingham Transferring From USC To LSU

Diggory Dillingham will transfer to LSU for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. Dillingham arrives after spending his freshman season at USC.

Dillingham committed to USC in fall 2022 and took a gap year before arriving in fall 2024. He was an Honorable Mention ranked recruit coming out of the high school class of 2023.

This past season, Dillingham made the ‘B’ final in the 50 free at the Big Ten Championships. He swam a 19.22 lifetime best to finish 12th. He swam 0.01 faster while leading off the team’s 200 free relay that finished 5th. He also was 32nd in the 100 free and 35th in the 100 fly at Big Tens.

He went on to swim at 2025 NCAAs as a relay only swimmer. At NCAAs, he swam to another lifetime best in the 50 free with a 19.16 on the lead off leg of the 200 free relay that finished 19th. He also was on the team’s 200 medley relay that finished 18th and the 400 free relay that was 25th.

Dillingham’s Best SCY Times:

  • 50 free: 19.16 (2025 NCAAs
  • 100 free: 43.47 (high school)
  • 100 fly: 48.24 (2024 Midseason)

The LSU men finished 7th out of 11 teams at the 2025 SEC Championships. Diver Carson Paul led the way with 85 individual points while Jere Hribar led the way in the pool with 64 points including a 4th place finish in the 50 free (18.65).

Based on his best times, Dillingham would have made the SEC ‘B’ final in the 50 free. It took a 42.75 in the 100 free and a 46.78 in the 100 fly to earn a second swim.

Dillingham is a boost to the team’s relays as his 50 free time would have been #2 on the roster this past season only behind Hribar. Dillingham’s best time in the 100 free that is from high school would have been #3 on the roster this past season. LSU notably finished 16th in the 200 free relay, 22nd in the 400 free relay, and 17th in the 200 medley relay at 2025 NCAAs.

From the direction of the article, it sounds as though a change of venue is very much what this swimmer needs.
