2026 NCAA ‘A’ finalist in the men’s 200 fly Abdalla Yousseff Nasr has entered the transfer portal. Nasr is the latest NCAA ‘A’ finalist to enter the portal.
Nasr just finished his freshman season at Auburn where he was the team’s highest scoring swimmer at the 2026 SEC Championships with 47 individual points including a 5th place finish in the 200 fly (1:41.02). He also was 9th in the 100 fly and 23rd in the 500 free while swimming on Auburn’s 400 medley relay that placed 4th.
He went on to qualify for the 2026 Men’s NCAA Championships. He scored 16 individual points at NCAAs and was highlighted by an 8th place finish in the 200 fly, touching in a 1:40.68. He swam a lifetime best 1:39.59 for 7th during prelims. In addition to his 200 fly, he also was 12th in the 100 fly (44.65). In addition to his individual impact, he swam on two of Auburn’s relays with the 400 medley relay finishing 10th and the 800 free relay finishing 11th. The Auburn men finished 17th overall at 2026 NCAAs with 55 points.
Nasr enters the portal a week after most of the NCAA qualifiers entered the portal at the conclusion of the 2026 Men’s NCAA Championships. He joins Julian Koch (Pitt), Luka Mladenovic (Michigan), Nick Simmons (Tennessee), and Jacob Johnson (Minnesota). Johnson was notably also in the 200 fly ‘A’ final at 2026 NCAAs as he was 4th.
Earlier today, SwimSwam reported that no new NCAA qualifiers had entered the portal. That was true until we received an update this afternoon about Nasr.

Michigan has done well with Flyers and could use an influx with Tyler Ray graduating.
Is he from South Dakota or Maine?
Lol
NIL is ruining college sports!
no, not doing it earlier ruined it already, now you are forced to change too fast.
Transfer athletes are like Greyhound buses – There is always another one coming around the block.
What’s going on at Auburn? They seem to be stuck in complete mediocrity for the past decade+
Unwise coaching hires – Gary Taylor for reasons obvious and I’ve been told Wochomurka is just kinda there
Yeahhh coaches the last 5-10 yrs there have been a bust.
They have lost the Magic Marsh Dust (Green colored paper).
Ohhh somebody knows too much
I don’t get why everyone thinks that every single team is going to win a championship. The talent pool is only so big. But everyone thinks every team is going to be great.
How about just putting together a competent team and providing great experiences for the athletes? Isn’t that enough?
feel like people are so focused on the desired end result and they forget the journey
When does the transfer portal close?
Nvm — read it’s Apr 24th in a different article
Athens awaits your arrival young man
You’re gonna be bummed but I think Johnston was also considering Georgia
Going to be really bummed when he hears about this guy heading about 350 miles south of Athens
I was not being serious but we do have a good fly group so if he did he would be welcome
Serious comments only!
I am not being serious.
25% of the 200 fly A Final’s in the portal
and it isn’t the guy people expected lol
Who are you talking about
Heilman to Texas
I don’t know who “expected” that outside of bobthebuilderrocks wishfully thinking that lol he is from a few minutes away and the family connection is clearly important to him
woah woah woah, I never thought Heilman would go elsewhere but UVA. I’ve only ever commented on Maximus, as far as I know.
Fair fair
And David King.
I wanted to see Maximus transfer (still do), King confused me because I started seeing his name pop up as liking Texas posts
Heilman and all the people who thought he wouldn’t last at UVA
Would be funny if they all ended up at uva
Jacob Johnson and Abdalla? I think Johnson’s one of the guys they picked up recently
