National Champion Diver Mya Kraeger Adds Verbal to Hoosiers’ Haul

Mya Kraeger of Willis, Texas has given her verbal commitment to Indiana University for the 2017-18 season. Kraeger represents Team A&M and was a member of the Junior National Squad for 2015. Kraeger trains with her twin sister, Emma.

“There are several reasons why Indiana University is my top pick.  I love the beautiful campus, the academic atmosphere, and the positive vibe at IU.  I have always wanted to work with Drew Johansen and be part of diving history.  It is truly shocking to think that I will dive on the same tower that Cassandra Cardinell, Sara Hildebrand, and Amy Cozad did or that I will be on the same team as Jessica Parratto.  I will be surrounded by top athletes that I look up to at IU.  They will push me, encourage me, and support me. I am beyond excited to start this journey and become part of the Hoosier Family!!”

Kraeger dove to a fourth-place finish at the 2015 USA Diving FINA World Championships Individual Trials in 2015. She represented Team USA at the 2015 Junior Pan Am Championships and earned a bronze medal on platform as well as a sixth in 3-meter diving. Kraeger earned a berth on the squad when she and her partner won the synchro national championship for 16/18 girls, and she won the 16/18 individual national title in 10 meter diving.

Kraeger will be part of the Indiana University class of 2021 with fellow verbal commits:
