13-year-old Jude Burkhart, an 11-12 National Age Group Record holder in distance freestyles, showed off his versatility en route to 7 wins at the Maryland Long Course Championships.

Burkhart’s wins included new best times in the 200 free (1:57.01), 400 free (4:08.65), 100 fly (58.48), and 200 fly (2:10.26). The only event he didn’t win in the 13-14 age group was the 100 free, where he was 2nd in 53.86, which was a personal best.

Both the 200 and 400 free are the best in the country this season among 13-year-olds; the 400 free was a 2.76 drop off his previous lifetime best and is about the same gap ahead of anybody else his age nationally.
