Michael Andrew cracks 48 in 100 back, opens up NCSAs Friday night with a NAG

Michael Andrew continues to lower his existing NAG records, opening up NCSA Junior Nationals on Friday night by taking the 100 back mark below 48 seconds.

Andrew has set and re-set this record plenty of times over the past few months – he took it down at Winter Juniors, then lowered it twice at College Station Sectionals before finally breaking 48 tonight. His 47.83 picked up third place in the event for the 13-14 NAG record machine.

Andrew was out in 23.34 and came home extremely well, closing in 24.49. The old record mark was 48.10 from the finals at College Station.

A quick look at the progression of this record for Andrew:

  • Winter Juniors: 48.68
  • College Station prelims: 48.37
  • College Station finals: 48.10
  • NCSA Juniors: 47.83
