Fitter and Faster Swim Clinics is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Mitchell Norton, a junior at Mount Paran Christian School and a member of the Marietta Marlins in Woodstock, Georgia, has made his verbal commitment to swim for the University of Georgia in the fall of 2021. A sprint freestyler, Norton will fill a role for the Bulldogs that has been very scarce in years past, with only Camden Murphy and Javier Acevedo under 20 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle.

Norton was a Georgia High School 1-5A State Champion in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.24) and state runner up in the 100-yard freestyle (45.75), and took 13th place in the 100-yard freestyle (44.95) at the East Speedo Winter Junior Nationals in 2019.

Top Times in Yards:

  • 50 free – 20.63
  • 100 free – 44.89
  • 200 free – 1:37.80
  • 100 back – 49.49
  • 200 back – 1:48.71
  • 100 fly – 49.32

Norton will join Class of 2021 Top Recruits Honorable Mention Zach Kohm and Ryan Wylie as well as South African Henre Louw as members of the Bulldogs’ class of 2025.
