LSU’s Jacob Pishko will now compete at the 2026 Men’s NCAA Championships this week after a scratch. The scratch comes from Duncan Henderson of Arizona.
Updated Documents
Pishko is the 3rd alternate to be added to the meet after Alexey Glivinsky and Garrett Gould were both added to the roster for Texas on Thursday.
The addition of Pishko now brings LSU to a total of four individual swimmers who earned an invite. Pishko earned his invite in the 1650 freestyle with a 14:52.88 entry time. He joins teammate Nikola Simic who also earned an invite in the event with a 14:47.85 entry time. This mark’s Pishko’s first NCAA Championships, and the 1650 free will be his only event.
The Arizona men now only have three individual invites after Henderson’s scratch. Henderson just finished his freshman season with the Wildcats.

LET’S GO, JACOB! Congrats, my friend! Geaux Tigers & Geuax Bolles!
Going 44.9 in the 100 fly and not getting an invite has to be the most insane alternate time ever. That time was top 4 10 years ago.
It’s the 2 fly and 2 back guys not going for me….
There is an 18.83 in the 50 free ranked 22nd in the nation that is out and because of the number of AQs in the 50 free is not even on the alternate list.
Nevermind. The 50 free is even more insane. Way more than the 200’s of stroke although absurd
Any idea what the reason for the scratch was for Duncan? Luca’s was injury related.
Good luck Phish!!!
Unrelated: swimswam you should make an article on this, Claire Tuggle NCAA All American and World Junior Champion has announced her retirement from competitive swimming, via her instagram post.
when does the meet officially close to new swimmers (alternates)?
How does that even work. Has he been tapering?
I would be in Mexico for spring break
He’s a distance guy who used to do open water. He probably does a 3 day taper anyway.
Did he get added today? That’s so wild. “Hey man! Good news, you made NCAAs! Bad news is you’ve got the mile in 2 days!”
A couple 20K days and he is good to go
Fun story about this – I had finished my conference meet, was basically told I was done for the season, fully expecting a few weeks off. Started going to the gym, played some raquetball with my non-swimmer friends, and of course, went to some parties…about week later, coach calls me up and says, we may need you for a relay at ncaa’s. You need to come in. Now I’m fully off of my taper, but I came in, did some training, actually time trialed a best 100 free time (better than my conference meet swim), but after that, it turned out I was no longer needed, so got to go back on vacation. It was fun for about a week… Read more »
