King Aquatic Club Boys Take Down 13-14 NAG in 200 Medley Relay

At the PNS 14 & under Championships in Federal Way, the King Aquatic Club boys set fire to another relay NAG. King already held the 13-14 200 medley relay NAG, but a new-look team of four sliced two tenths off of the old record. The team of Kevin Kyi (24.55), Ethan Dang (25.60), Alex Nguyen (24.38), and Tyler Lu (21.09) combined for the NAG with a 1:35.62.

OLD RECORD NEW RECORD
Lu 24.45 Kyi 24.55
Flores 26.20 Dang 25.60
Elizarov 23.59 Nguyen 24.38
Dang 21.59 Lu 21.09

Alejandro Flores and Vladislav Elizarov from the old record team were swapped out for Kyi and Lu. A prolific age group breaststroker, Dang was able to swim his best stroke in this relay after having had to anchor it in the past. Lu, still only 13 years old, put down an impressive 21.09 anchor. Actually, the entirety of this relay save for Dang is made of 13 year olds, making this record that much more impressive.

Dang, at this meet, has won all three events that he’s swum. He took the 200 fly (1:55.33) and 400 IM (4:00.67), and added a 55.60 to take the 100 breast. He’s entered in the 200 breast, 200 IM, and 100 fly for today’s competition.
