Atlanta, Georgia’s Jory Richardson has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Miami’s class of 2027.

Richardson swims for Grady High School and Metro Atlanta Aquatic Club and specializes in backstroke and freestyle. She won the 4A-5A 100 free (51.67) and came in fourth in the 100 back (56.85) at the 2022 Georgia High School 1A-5A State Swimming and Diving Championships in February. A month later, she earned PBs in the 50 free, 100 back, and 100 fly at Cary Sectionals. She also competed at ISCA International Senior Cup in March, coming in 2nd in the 50 back, 7th in the 100 back, and 23rd in the 50 free and leaving the meet with updated PBs in the 50 back and 100 fly.

Miami finished ninth out of 12 women’s teams at the 2022 ACC Championships. It took 54.02/1:58.56 in the backstroke and 22.92/49.95 in the sprint free to earn second swims at the conference meet this past season. Richardson will suit up for the Canes with fellow class of 2027 commit Amanda Witkus.
