Indiana’s Connor Punches Ticket to Rio for Team Australia

MELBOURNE, Australia – Indiana University diver James Connor won three events and secured his spot on Team Australia for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio this summer.

Connor won a pair of individual events at the 2016 World Cup Selection Trials in Melbourne this week – the 3-meter springboard and platform – and also teamed with Grant Nel to win the 3-meter synchro.

In the 3-meter springboard, Connor won with a score of 471.10 and capture the title in the platform with a mark of 459.90.

This will be the second Olympic Games for Connor, who also dove for Team Australia in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Connor dove in the 10-meter platform in 2012.
