Indiana, Virginia, Georgia Expected at Tennessee Invite In November

A handful of top teams are expected to attend the Tennessee Invite this November, including Indiana, Virginia and Georgia.

Tennessee gave us an early list of expected teams, though plans do sometimes change this far out:

  • Tennessee
  • Indiana
  • Georgia
  • Virginia
  • Carson-Newman

The Tennessee Invite is set to take place from November 21-23 in Knoxville. That’s the first major weekend of mid-season invite action, taking place concurrently with major invites in Missouri, Texas A&M, Ohio State, NC State, Purdue and Georgia Tech. The next major weekend of invites is after Thanksgiving, with a key invite at Minnesota and a major long course meet in U.S. Open.

Tennessee’s invite should be one of the bigger invites of that first weekend with at least four top-20 programs already on the tentative list. Those programs are Indiana (9th for women in 2019; 3rd for men), Virginia (6th for women; 10th for men), Tennessee (8th for women; 11th for men), and Georgia (18th for women and men).

Here’s a look at the rest of the major mid-season meets we’ve been tracking so far:

Was wondering about the Georgia Invite. Now it’s obvious it isn’t happening this year, with both Georgia and Virginia heading to Tennessee.

Same thing with the Texas Hall of Fame Invitational, with Texas (and Harvard and Arizona, who usually go to Austin) all going to the Minnesota Invite.
