Havyn Pelland from International Falls, Minnesota has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Division II Minnesota State University- Moorhead beginning in the 2022-2023 school year.
“I am excited to announce my commitment to MSUM swim team and happy to start my studies there next fall. I want to thank my family, friends and coaches for their support throughout my swim career and to American College Connection for helping me extend my swim journey. Let’s go Dragons!!”
Pelland swims for International Falls High School. In October 2020, she earned a fourth place finish in the 100 butterfly at the Minnesota Girls 7A Sectional Championships. In 2019 she earned All Section and Iron Range Conference honors. She also plays hockey and softball for her high school.
Her best short course yards times are:
- 100 butterfly: 1:04.91
- 200 freestyle: 2:19.49
- 500 freestyle: 6:27.46
Minnesota State University- Moorhead is a public university located in Moorhead, Minnesota. The school is a member of the Northern Sun Conference.
The team finished seventh out of nine teams at the 2021 Northern Sun Conference Championships. They were only 11 points behind sixth-place team Northern State University. The team was led by current seniors Katelin Winter (22 points) and Alexis Bray (15 points).
It took a time of 1:01.93 in the 100 butterfly, 1:59.53 in the 200 freestyle, and 5:30.54 in the 500 freestyle to earn a second swim at the 2021 Northern Sun Conference Championships.
Head Coach Charlie King is in his fourth season at MSU-Moorhead and is only the second head coach in program history.
Pelland will arrive on campus next fall as a member of the class of 2026.
