Men’s Swimmer of the Week: Camden Murphy, Georgia
Georgia’s Camden Murphy, a junior from Novi, Mich., scored 18 individual points to help Georgia’s in their opening meet win over Alabama. Murphy swept the butterfly events with wins in the 100 (47.88) and 200 (1:46.69). His B-cut time in the 200 fly is the second fastest time in the nation, while his time in the 100 fly is the sixth fastest nationally.

Men’s Diver of the Week: Leonardo Garcia Varela, Missouri
Missouri’s Leonardo Garcia Varela, a freshman from Cali, Columbia, swept both springboard events as the Tigers took home the 2019 Show-Me Showdown team title on Oct. 4. He took first on 1-meter with a score of 318.50 before completing the sweep with a win on 3-meter with 336.50 points, including two dives that earned 67.5 points.

Men’s Freshman of the Week: Ian Grum, Georgia
Georgia’s Ian Grum, a freshman from Atlanta, Ga., scored 17 points in Georgia’s win over Alabama. Grum took first in the 200 back with a time of 1:45.88, the fourth fastest time in the nation. He posted the fifth fastest time in the nation in the 400 IM (3:53.64) and with his split in the 200 medley relay (22.69). Grum posted a time of 49.13 in the 100 back, the 17th fastest time in the nation.

Women’s Swimmer of the Week: Courtney Harnish, Georgia
Georgia’s Courtney Harnish, a junior from York, Pa., recorded 19.5 points in Georgia’s opening-season win over Alabama. Harnish posted a B-cut time of 4:47.04 in the 500 free to tie for first place in the meet and tie for second nationally. She also finished first in the 200 free with a time of 1:47.53, the fourth fastest time in the nation and second in the 1000 free with a time of 9:54.75, the third best time in the nation.

Women’s Diver of the Week: Ashley McCool, Florida
Florida’s Ashley McCool, a junior from Cochrane, Alberta, Canada, won five of the six diving events over the first three meets for the Gators. In the opening meet at FIU, McCool took first in the 1-meter (302.33) and second in the 3-meter (285.83). She went on to sweep both springboard events at Miami (306.83; 338.25) and FAU (299.70; 314.85).

Women’s Freshman of the Week: Zoie Hartman, Georgia
Georgia’s Zoie Hartman, a freshman from Danville, Calif., recorded B-cut times while sweeping the breaststroke events in Georgia’s opening meet win over Alabama. Hartman won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.09, the fifth fastest time in the nation and the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:13.01, the seventh fastest time in the nation. She was also a part of the winning 200 medley relay as she scored 18 points in the meet, the most of any Georgia freshman.
