WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University swimming & diving teams split with host Seton Hall on Saturday with the women’s team claiming victory (158.5-141.5) and the men’s team dropping to the Pirates (189.5-110.5).
“It’s always great to end the dual meet season against a really talented team,” said Head Coach Jack Leavitt. “We had some really good results and some things we can’t wait to work on over the next few weeks leading up to BIG EAST Championships.”
WOMEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Maddie Haley, Erin Hood, Genevieve Youngman and Bella Wylie captured a first place finish in the 200 medley relay clocking a time of 1:46.46
- Corey Moon earned a first place finish with a time of 10:23.76 in the 1,000 free.
- Alex Breuer and Hood went 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke with times of 1:06.92 and 1:07.12, respectively. The duo also took first and second in the 200 breaststroke with Hood clocking a time of 2:22.34 and Breuer following at 2:23.19
- Angelica Reali added a first place finish in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:05.82.
- Sophia Ribeiro (5:03.29) and Moon (5:05.35) took first and second in the 500 free.
- Youngman captured a first place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.24.
- Breuer earned a first place finish with a time of 2:08.56 in the 200 IM.
- Emilie Ginovker (257.25) and Wynter Bramao (235.35) took first and second in the 3m dive. Ginovker also picked up a second place finish in the 1m dive with a score of 220.27.
MEN’S HIGHLIGHTS
- Nike Pezzella (2:04.91) and Stephen Kim (2:06.66) went 1-2 in the 200 breaststroke.
- Tomo Nozaki finished second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.82 followed by Michael Baldini with a time of 50.88.
- Jack Brearton and Pezzellai went 1-2 in the 200 IM, clocking times of 1:55.42 and 1:55.71, respectively.
- John McEachern earned a second place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.95.

The Hoyas will travel to East Meadow, New York to compete at the Big East Championships from February 22-25.

South Orange, N.J. – The Seton Hall men’s swimming and diving team celebrated Senior Day in style, defeating defending-BIG EAST Champion Georgetown, 189.5-110.5, on Saturday afternoon inside Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium.
Before the meet, eight men’s seniors were honored: Gennarino Conzemius (Bethel Park, Pa.), Conor Dunne (Hinsdale, Ill.), Henry Keegan (Needham, Mass.), Anthony Melchore (Williston Park, N.Y.), Thomas Minar (Oxford, Conn.), Justin Oosterwyk (Pequannock, N.J.), Ross Pantano (Bennington, Neb.) and Walker Parra (Pensacola, Fla.).
Minar led the way for the Pirates on the day with four overall victories, the first of which came in the 200 Medley Relay to begin the swimming portion of the meet. Minar swam a 20.17 split on the anchor leg to help his relay team finish the race in 1:30.87. Minar bookended the meet with relay wins, as he also helped the 400 Free Relay team finish in first with a time of 3:05.81. He collected a pair of individual wins on the day as well, taking the 50 Free in 21.21 and the 100 Free in 46.58.
Pantano also had a stellar farewell to Arthur E. Imperatore Natatorium, notching three overall victories. He too swam on the 200 Meldey Relay team that took the top spot, swimming the opening leg in 23.55 in the backstroke. Pantano’s individual wins came in the 100 Back with a time of 50.39, as well as the 200 Back which he completed in 1:51.28. He also was able to capture third place in the 200 IM in a time of 1:55.93.
The Pirates swept the podium in a pair of events. Kevin Cary (West Chester, Pa.), Ben LaClair (Belchertown, Mass.) and Gideon Langenbusch (Oberhausen, Germany) had the first clean sweep in the 200 Free. Cary won the event in 1:41.40, while LaClair, who also swam at home for the final time as a Pirate on Saturday, took second in 1:42.07. Langenbusch grabbed third-place in a time of 1:43.58. The other sweep on the day for The Hall came in the 100 Free, led by Minar in first followed by LaClair and Cary in second and third, respectively.
In diving, Quinn Murtha (Cumming, Ga.) captured victory in both the 1-meter and 3-meter. He recorded a score of 300.00 in the 1-meter to deliver him the win, while his score of 302.02 in the 3-meter vaulted him into first place.
Freshmen Clil Halevi (Kafar Hadranim, Israel) and Michael Klimaszewski (London, England) each picked up a pair of wins on the day. Halevi won both distance events, winning the 1000 Free in 9:26.32 and the 500 Free in 4:37.75. In both events, Halevi finished just ahead of Sean Vizzard (Mount Laurel, N.J.), who took second. Klimaszewski continued his dominance in the butterfly events, winning the 100 Fly in 48.48 and the 200 Fly in 1:49.21. Oosterwyk finished in second behind Klimaszewski in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:52.24.
Conzemius collected a third-place finish in the 200 Breast on his Senior Day, touching the wall in a time of 2:08.47. Ben Endersby (Caldwell, N.J.) took first in the 100 Breast, doing so in a time of 56.84.
The Pirates will have just under a month to gear up for the BIG EAST Championships at Nassau Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y. The event will take place Feb. 22-25.
