Buffalo Earns Senior Day Victory Over Bowling Green

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University at Buffalo women’s swimming and diving team (3-3, 3-2 MAC) defeated the Bowling Green Falcons (4-4, 1-3 MAC) on Saturday afternoon by a score of 220-77 at Alumni Arena Natatorium.

THE POOL
The Bulls dominated the pool events, sweeping the 200 freestyle, 50 freestyle, and 200 IM. UB swimmers also placed first and second in the 1000 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and 100 butterfly.

In their final home meets, the senior trio of Toni Naccarella (23.41-seconds), Ellie Duley (24.01), and Allie Stockwell (24.17) swept the 50 freestyle. Senior Clarice Fisher took first in the 100 and 200 butterfly with times of 55.45-seconds and 2:04.04, respectively.

Katie Pollock won the 100 breaststroke in 1:04.57, and in the 200 IM, Lena Li finished first with a time of 2:07.85.

The senior class also contributed to two relay victories. The team of Maddy McDonough, Pollock, Fisher, and Toni Naccarella won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.96. In the 400 freestyle relay, Maddy RoganToni Naccarella, Fisher, and Stockwell finished first in 3:31.52.

THE DIVING WELL
Victoria Franz won the 3-meter and 1-meter dive, setting her second school record of the season in the 3-meter dive with a score of 359.10. Marialis Kwak finished second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 303.75, and Presley Dorsett finished second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 270.30.

UP NEXT
The Bulls are back in action from Wednesday, Feb. 22 to Saturday, Feb. 25 as the team travels to Oxford, Ohio to compete in the Mid-American Conference Championships.

BUFFALO, New York – The Bowling Green State University swimming and diving team took on the University at Buffalo today for their last dual meet of the season. The Falcons fell 220-77.

The Falcons were led by senior Taylor Harris. Harris was the lone Falcon to reach the top spot in an event. Harris won the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:22.22. Harris also finished second in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:06.21. Then in the last individual event of the day Harris again scored points in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.98.

Falcons Emily McNicol and Lily Kaiser both added second place finishes to the Falcon effort. McNicol finished second in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 57.59. Meanwhile, Kaiser placed second in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:09.11.

The divers were led again by Rayah Blood and Elise Snyder. Blood and Snyder finished back-to-back in both dives and were the top finishers for the Falcons. In the 3-Meter Dive Blood was the highest finisher placing third with a score of 289.50 and was closely followed by Snyder with a score of 246.75. Snyder was then the top Falcon in the 1-Meter Dive with a score of 239.85.

“Today was another tough meet. Buffalo is a very good team. Over the last three weeks we have competed against the top two teams in the MAC and the best team in the Horizon League. It has been a tough stretch in our schedule, but we are in high spirits and looking forward to MAC Championships.”

The Falcons return to the pool in two weeks in the Miami Last Chance Meet taking place from February 10th through the 11th. This will be the Falcons last competition before MAC Championships.
