If any event should be added, it should be relays, particularly 4×200 medley. It’s always great to see an entire team cheering at the end of the pool. and the hugs at the end! true teamwork.

If they are adding new events it definitely shouldn’t be a brand new event, a 4×200 medley will never happen. As far as I’m concerned though they shouldn’t add any events to pool swimming, swimming already has far more Olympic medals available than any other sport and swimming already faces some criticism for those medals not counting for as much as team sports don’t add fuel to the fire.

what they should add is the 1500 for women and the 800 for men. Give the distance swimmers some love!

My non-swimming friends all like watching relays the best, so if they want to increase the fan-base, they should substitute more relays for some individual events. Most swimmers like relays better too, so it’s a no-brainer.
