Bolles School Sharks’ Luis Lebrons Montesinos has announced his commitment to further his academic and athletic career at Gannon University beginning in the fall of 2026.

Montesinos hails from Jacksonville, Florida, where he represents the Bolles School Sharks. This past December, Montesinos raced at the RAFC Winter Classic, where he clocked several best times, including 1:43.15 in the 200 free, 4:38.59 in the 500 free, and 1:00.32 in the 100 breast.
In more recent results, at the ASL Southeastern Meet of Champions, he managed to swim a plethora of career bests, including the 200 IM (1:55.68), 400 IM (4:01.06), 50 free (21.93), 100 free (47.93), 100 fly (52.87), and 100 breast (1:00.32).
Montesinos originally came to the US from Spain, where he returned this summer to train with Real Canoe Natacion in Madrid to prepare for the upcoming Spanish National Championships. That is the same club that both his father and grandfather previously competed for.

Gannon competes in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference at the Division II level, where the Gannon men finished runners-up to West Chester at the 2026 PSAC Championships.
Based on Montesinos’ best times, he would have finished 5th in both the 500 free and the 400 IM, and 14th in the 200 free.
Gannon finished over 500 points off of West Chester. Still, with Monestinos already firmly within scoring range, including championship finals in both the 500 free and 400 IM, he is an immediate help to Gannon’s efforts to rise in the PSAC.
Montesinos is the lone publicized recruit in the Gannon men’s 2026 recruiting class.
