BOCA RATON, Fla. – The FAU swimming & diving team swept St. Thomas in the Owls’ first meet in 63 days. The women’s team won by a 181-58 final score, while the men also won in decisive fashion, 178-77.
Prior to the meet, the Owls held Senior Day to recognize Lisa Cottage-Ramnick, Sarah Martin, Jack Shapiro and Brandon Turner for their dedication and contributions to the program the last few years.

“It was a great meet today, we swam really well,” FAU head coach Lara Preacco said. “Our swimmers had some great races and executed some good strategies, and they feel confident leading up to the conference championships.”
Leading the way for the Owls on the women’s side with 27 points was Maggie Casey. Casey tallied first-place finishes in the 200 free (1:55.21), 100 free (54.11) and 500 free (5:10.67).
On the men’s side, Alec Peckmann, Maximiliano Ahumada and Cameron Speed each recorded 18 points. Peckmann took first place in the 50 free (20.72) and 200 breast (2:05.07). Ahumada took home first in the 200 free (1:41.93) and 200 back (1:55.02). Speed captured first in the 1,000 free (10:31.09) and 200 fly (1:59.75).
The Owls dominated the meet and captured first place in 26 out of the 32 events. The first-place finishers included:

The Owls will return to action for another home meet next Saturday, Jan. 29, when FIU will come to town. The meet will be a women’s-only meet.
