European Juniors Champion Flawia Kamzol Commits To Northwestern For 2026

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Flawia Kamzol of Poland has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Northwestern beginning in fall 2026.

“I’m thrilled to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Northwestern University!! I would like to thank my family and friends for supporting and being there for me. Most of all I want to thank @swimcoachrachel and @eddie.larios who gave me this incredible opportunity, as well as Mount Kelly coaches for their endless support. I can’t wait for the next chapter. Go Cats!”

Kamzol trains with Mount Kelly Swimming out of the UK but represents Poland at the international level. She most recently competed at the 2025 World Junior Championships where she semifinaled in numerous events. She finished 11th in the 50 fly with a 26.45 and 12th in the 100 fly in a 59.46.

Earlier this summer, she swam at the European Junior Championships. There she swam to a win in the 50 fly posting a lifetime best 26.17. She also medaled in the 100 fly posting a 59.10 for bronze, although she was slightly faster in prelims with a 58.90 to be the top seed heading into semifinals.

Kamzol’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:

  • 100 fly: 58.90 (51.80)
  • 100 free: 56.33 (49.30)

The Northwestern women finished 9th out of 14 teams at the 2025 Big Ten Championships. The team sent two individual swimmers to the 2025 NCAA Championships but did not score.

Based on her best converted times, Kamzol is a huge addition to the roster for next fall. Her best time in the 100 fly would already have made the 2025 NCAA Championships as the cutline was a 51.87 this past spring. She also would have been 4th in the event at 2025 Big Tens, an event where they had no ‘A’ or ‘B’ finalists at grad student Nikki Venema led the team with a 52.79 for 17th. Venema split a 53.18 on the fly leg of the team’s 400 medley relay that finished 10th at Big Tens.

Kamzol will arrive in next fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Iris Kim, Sophia Oka-fedder, Aya Ferguson, Bella Teply, and Xintong Wang.

Never have I ever asked an American recruit their GPA or SAT score (but if they want to share, it could be really interesting!)
