Euro Juniors Finalist Francesco Ceolin (2027) Verbally Commits to Harvard

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Francesco Ceolin from Preganziol, Italy, has announced his verbal commitment to the admission process* at Harvard University for 2027-28. He confirmed to SwimSwam:

“I am honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to the admissions process at Harvard University, where I will continue both my academic and swimming career starting in Fall 2027. I am deeply grateful to my family, my coach Andrea Franconetti, and to Coach Kevin Tyrrell and Harvard University for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity. I would like to thank my school, Collegio Vescovile Pio X (Treviso, Italy), for its constant support, which allows me to maintain a balance between academics and swimming. Their understanding and flexibility play an important role in my journey. I look forward to joining the Harvard Crimson family and beginning this exciting new chapter. Go Crimson!! ❤️🖤”

Ceolin trains under coach Andrea Franconetti at Team Veneto, where he specializes in butterfly and freestyle. He represented Italy at the 2025 European Junior Swimming Championships in Samorin, Slovakia, making the final of the 100 fly and the semi-finals of the 50 fly. In the 100, he hit three PBs in a row, going 53.02 in heats (2nd), 52.99 in semis (3rd), and 52.80 in finals (4th). He clocked a 24.45 in prelims of the 50 to qualify 11th for semis, then placed 13th with 24.42. He also competed in the 50 free (23.65), finishing 48th in heats, and led off both the mixed 400 free relay (50.64) and the men’s 400 free relay (PB of 50.08). Six weeks later he swam for Italy at 2025 World Aquatics Junior Championships. There, he placed 16th in the 50 fly (24.24) and 12th in the 100 fly (53.41).

In December, he earned PBs in the 200 free (1:45.97) and 50 fly (23.50) at the Italian Short Course Championships in Riccione, and in the 100 fly (51.83) and 200 fly (1:59.45) during the first round of the Italian team championships, Coppa Caduti di Brema.

Ceolin’s best converted times would already score for the Crimson at Ivy League Men’s Championships in the ‘A’ final of the 100 fly, the ‘B’ finals of the 100/200 free, and the ‘C’ final of the 200 fly.

Best LCM times (converted):

  • 50 fly – 24.22 (21.18)
  • 100 fly – 52.80 (46.30)
  • 200 fly – 2:02.33 (1:47.68)
  • 50 free – 23.57 (20.51)
  • 100 free – 50.05 (43.64)
  • 200 free – 1:50.33 (1:36.51)

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.

If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected].
