Emily Lundgren Posts 2:30.87 200 Breast To Open Mount Hood Sectionals

Highlighting night one of competition in Oregon was Emily Lundgren. Lundgren swam to a 2:30.87 in the girls 200 breaststroke in her win. Lundgren has a personal best of a 2:30.09 that she swam in April 2024 and was 14th in the event at last month’s US Summer Nationals in a 2:30.36. She competes collegiately fro Washington State and was 6th at 2025 NCAAs in the SCY 200 breast.

Also earning a win on the girls side was 15 year old Zayda Miehl who swam to a 8:45.37 in the 800 free, a 0.77 second drop. Meihl entered the season with a lifetime best 8:59.52. Finishing just behind her was Leila Stafford who swam a 8:45.82, almost a 10 second drop for the 16 year old.

Winning the 100 freestyle was Tara Joyce who touched in a 56.09, dropping from her lifetime best 56.50. Joyce competes collegiately for Wyoming and was 8th in the SCY 100 free at the Mountain West Conference Championships in a 49.71. Ella Gaca Thiele swam to a lifetime best 56.38 in the event. The USC commit dropped from her previous best of a 57.11.

SMU commit Annemarie Vlaic earned the win in the 200 fly by over two seconds, touching in a 2:15.76. She was about a second and a half off her lifetime best of a 2:14.02 that stands from March 2024.

Highlighting the boys side of the meet was Drew Eubanks who won the 200 breast in a 2:14.87. Eubanks, a Tennessee commit for fall 2026, has been as fast as 2:12.87, a time that he swam at last month’s US Summer Nationals to place 10th. He also was 9th at US Summer Nationals in the 100 breast in a 1:00.79.

Tylor Kim swam to the win in the men’s 100 free, touching in a 50.00. Kim represents Penn State at the collegiate level and swam to a lifetime best 49.59 to finish 18th in the event at US Summer Nationals. Ohio State commit Ethan Reniewicki touched 2nd in a 50.53, just off his best time of a 50.06 that he swam at US Summer Nationals.

Winning the boys 800 free was Hudson Martz as he touched in a 8:16.36. That was over a three second drop from his previous lifetime best of a 8:19.47 that he swam at last summer’s Futures Championships in Austin, Texas. Touching behind Martz was Devin Irons who dropped almost 10 seconds as he touched in a 8:18.09.

The 200 butterfly was a tight race but Peter Shih was able to earn the win in a 2:04.08, passing Micah Moore on the final 50 as Moore touched in a 2:04.56. Shih dropped just over half a second from his lifetime best of a 2:04.84 while Moore, a Colorado Mesa commit, dropped from his best time of a 2:05.28.

Not including Nathan knobelspisee is a crime dudes going to be a stud and Colorado mesa. Back in 1:05.0 in his 2 fly. Dude is fit

I’m surprised Nathan Knoblespeisse didn’t win the 200 fly, as he has the most experience at competitions like these. 3rd place isn’t bad though.
