Elmbrook Swim Club time trialed a women’s 200 medley relay this afternoon, shattering the 15-18 girls National Age Group Record. The squad of Maggie Wanezek (15), Lucy Thomas (15), Campbell Stoll (16), and Abby Wanezek (17) teamed up to swim a 1:51.55, coming in well under the previous record of 1:54.46.
Maggie Wanezek clocked a 28.54 on the backstroke leg, which makes her the #4 15-year-old 50 backstroker of all-time. Lucy Thomas then split a blistering 31.05 on breaststroke, Campbell Stoll split 26.74 on fly, and Abby Wanezek anchored in 25.22.
The previous NAG was held by Aquajets from 2009. That team consisted of Rachel Bootsma, Abigail Duncan, Meghan Cummings, and Tess Behrens, who combined for a 1:54.46.
The Elmbrook girls have also swum very well individually at the Irvine site of the meet. Maggie Wanezek came in 2nd in the 200 back last night, becoming the #25 200 backstroker all-time for 15-16 girls (2:11.56). She also swam a lifetime best of 56.63 in the 100 free. Campbell Stoll is slated to race in the A final of the women’s 100 fly tonight, and swam a lifetime best of 2:13.79 in the 200 fly on day 1 of the meet.
Lucy Thomas swam a lifetime best in the 100 free (57.03), and a best in the 200 breast (2:33.44). Abby Wanezek swam a lifetime best of 56.65 in the 100 free, and swam a best time of 1:03.02 in the 100 fly this morning.
