Division III Diving Champion Nina Schwab Transferring From Carleton To Michigan

NCAA Division III diving champion Nina Schwab will transfer to join the Michigan Wolverines for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Schwab just finished her sophomore year at Carleton College.

The California native arrived at Carleton in fall 2024 and was 3rd in the 1 meter event with 438.20 points and 4th in the 3 meter event with 481.10 points at the 2025 Division III NCAA Championships.

She returned for her sophomore season and competed in four meets this past season, completing her season at the 2026 Division III NCAA Championships. There she earned an NCAA title in the 1 meter with 465.65 points and also was an NCAA runner up in the 3 meter scoring 484.35 points.

The Michigan women captured the 2026 Big Ten title and went on to finish 6th at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Kiarra Milligan, who has now graudated, was the only diver for the Michigan women at 2026 NCAAs as she scored 11 individual points with an 11th place finish in the 1 meter event and a 12th place finish in the 3 meter event.

Michigan’s diving program will enter its second season under head diving coach Brandon LoschiavoLoschiavo won the NCAA title in the platform event as a senior at Purdue. Loschiavo also represented the US at the 2020 and 2024 Paris Olympics in the 10 meter event. Fellow NCAA Champion Lyle Yost is an assistant coach on the Michigan staff. Yost spent his collegiate career at Ohio State and specialized in the 1 meter event.

Schwab joins Mia Henninger as diving transfers for the women’s program this fall. Henninger’s strongest event is the platform event, so the two will be able to compliment each other well. Henninger was a Division I NCAA qualifier while at Missouri. Other transfers for the women’s program include swimmers Haley McDonald (Texas) and Julia Strojnowska (Auburn).
