Dalton Destroys Men’s DIII 100 Fly Record

After having broken Wyatt Ubellacker’s NCAA record in the prelimsReed Dalton of Wash U was just getting started. He faced off against defending champion Karl Mering of Whitman, but Mering didn’t stand a chance. Dalton got out to a 22.03 start and then put down his head on the final length to power home with a final time of 46.97 to claim the victory.

This morning, Ubellacker’s record was set at 47.34. With his finals swim, Dalton managed to take almost four tenths off the original record time.

Wasn’t Lin’s backstroke leg 47.03 also well under the D3 record?
