Connecticut Diver Sergei Shaw Verbally Commits to La Salle

Greenwich, Connecticut’s Sergei Shaw will dive for La Salle in the fall. He will join Zack Wolbert in the Explorers’ class of 2022.

Shaw is a senior at Greenwich High School where he has been a member of the GHS Swim and Dive Team for the last four years and also dives for New Canaan YMCA Whirlwind. He told SwimSwam, “I am committing to the dive program at La Salle University in Philly and look forward to competing in the Atlantic 10.”

At Greenwich, Shaw was a four-year varsity letter-winner and contributed to a swimming and diving team that won four straight Connecticut Open Championships (making a total of six consecutive Open titles). As a senior, he placed 4th in the CT Division LL Championship diving meet with 447.95 points and 7th in the State Open diving meet with 441.55.

The La Salle men’s team finished third in a tight team race at 2018 Atlantic-10 Championships. Senior Dylan Yurasits won both 3-meter diving and 1-meter diving with a conference and meet record of 348.45 points. Sophomore Blake Griffith placed third on the 1-meter board and sixth on the 3-meter.
