Confirmed: Lochte Has Landed in Orlando, Will Race on Saturday in Grand Prix

SwimSwam’s Mel Stewart, who is on deck at the Orlando Grand Prix, has confirmed that Ryan Lochte has been able to catch a flight out of Charlotte, has landed in Orlando, and is ready to race on the final day of the 2014 Orlando Grand Prix on Saturday.

Though he arrived on Friday, there was no way that he was going to arrive at the pool in time for any individual swims.

Lochte was one of three in SwimMAC’s Team Elite who were unable to get on their planned flights on Wednesday, but Madison Kennedy and Kathleen Baker it appears have punted. For Lochte, however, this meet is especially important, as he hasn’t raced in over 6 months while dealing with an injury to his knee sustained during a run-in with an overzealous fan.

Lochte will swim the 200 back and the 100 free on the meet’s final day; he won’t swim the 200 IM in which he was also entered.

Happy to see him for day 3.
Good news for the meet.
Good news for his crazy Bieber fans who are ready to scream.
Bad news for my ears.
