Colorado Stars Break SCY Open Men 200 Medley Relay Colorado LSC Record

Highlighting the TOPS Colorado Open was the 200 medley relay from the Colorado Stars as the men broke the Colorado LSC Open record. Note: The LSC record does not include any of the collegiate teams The relay was led off by Blake Wilton who swam the backstroke leg in a 22.83. Arnold Luk swam a 25.32 on the breaststroke leg and was followed by Kent Olsen-Stavrakas on the butterfly leg who swam a 20.71. Brodie Johnson closed in a 21.27 to finish in a time of 1:30.13. The relay had a large age range as Johnson was the youngest at age 15, and Olsen-Stavrakas was the oldest at age 30. The relay broke the LSC previous record of 1:30.51 held by Aquawolves Swim Team. 

The four also combined for a win in the 200 freestyle relay swimming a time of 1:23.92. 

Individually, Wilton won the individual 100 freestyle in a time of 46.95. Olsen-Stavrakas swam to first place in the 100 breaststroke (54.72) and 100 butterfly (47.63). 

Other Notable Swims:

  • 13-year-old Cameryn Walkup won the 1650 freestyle finishing in a time of 17:47.89, that time was a best time by over 42 seconds
  • Charlotte Burnham (15 years old) won the 100 freestyle in a 53.22, she also won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:05.63
