Yixuan Chang, a Chinese National, who has spent significant time living and training in the U.S., is planning to swim at Duke University beginning in the 2021-22 school year.
Chang represented China at the 7th FINA World Junior Championships in 2019, where she swam the 200 back and 400 IM and led off the 200 free, 400 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays.
In the United States, she swims with Stamford Sailfish Aquatic Club in Stamford, Connecticut. She competed at U.S. Open and Winter Juniors East in November-December 2019. At the former, she earned a PB in the 800 free (8:52.87), while at the latter, she finaled in the 100 free (8th), 200 IM (18th), and 400 IM (4th) and notched PBs in the 50 free, 100 free, 200 IM, and 400 IM.

Chang will join Ali Harrison, Amaya Hanley, KyAnh Truong, Margo O’Meara, and McKenna Smith in Duke’s class of 2025. Her best times would have scored in the top-16 of the 1650 free and 200/400 IM and the C finals of the 100/200/500 free at 2021 ACC Championships. The Blue Devils placed 6th of 12 teams.
