Charlotte Driesse will join the Florida Gulf Coast University women for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Driesse just finished her freshman season at Kentucky.
“I couldn’t be more blessed by everyone who has supported me in Kentucky. I am beyond grateful for the relationships I’ve made there and I will treasure them forever.
That said, I am so excited to announce that I will be continuing my athletic and academic careers at Florida Gulf Coast University! I couldn’t be more appreciative of this opportunity and of everyone who has helped me get here. So thrilled to start this new chapter!! Wings up “
Driesse will move much closer to home as she is originally from St Augustine, Florida. St Augustine is about a five hour drive from FGCU’s campus.
She just finished her freshman season at Kentucky and swam to two best times at the 2026 SEC Championships. She was 37th in the 200 IM with a 2:01.81, 43rd in the 200 free with a 1:48.80, and 48th in the 500 free with a 4:55.43.
Driesse’s Best Times Are:
| High School | At Kentucky | |
| 200 free | 1:48.95 | 1:48.80 |
| 500 free | 4:51.29 | 4:55.43 |
| 200 IM | 2:02.34 | 2:01.81 |
The FGCU women were 2nd at the 2026 ASUN Championships with 1619 points, finishing just eight points behind Delaware who captured the team title. Leading the way for FGCU was Aislyn Barnett who scored 85 individual points including a win in the 200 breast with a 2:11.40. Barnett transferred in from Auburn last offseason.
Based on her best times, Driesse is a huge pick up for the FGCU women as her best time in the 200 IM and 500 free would have been 3rd at the 2026 ASUN Championships while her best time in the 200 free would have been 5th. Barnett was notably 2nd in the 500 free with a 4:49.13.
In addition to her individual impact, Driesse also has the potential to boost the team’s 800 free relay. That relay was 3rd at the 2026 ASUN Championships and included a 1:51 split as well as a 1:49 split.
