Cecilia Hagewood, a current high school senior from Chula Vista, California, has committed to swim for Division II Northern Michigan University. Hagewood is a current senior at Eastlake Senior High School and will graduate in spring 2021. She will join the Wild Cats’ class of 2025.
Hagewood currently swims for San Diego Seaport Aquatics where she is a Sectional and Futures qualifier. At the 2019 CIF San Diego Section Championships, Hagewood placed 3rd in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.32) and 5th in the 50 freestyle (24.15).
“I am so excited to have committed to such an amazing team with an amazing coaching staff, the campus was beautiful as was the scenery. I’d like to give a special thanks to my supporting friends and family as well as coaches Tyler and Paul on SDSA. I’d also like to give a huge thanks to Coach Krissy and Tom from South Bay Aquatics, I could not have made it as far as I have without them. I can’t wait to be a Wild Cat!”
At the 2020 GLIAC Championships with the Wild Cats, Hagewood would have had multiple finals performances with her current best times. She would have placed 5th in both the 50 freestyle (24.15) and the 100 breaststroke (1:04.32), 7th in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.11) and 12th in the 100 freestyle (53.07).

At the GLIAC Championships, the Wild Cats placed 1st after placing 3rd the year prior. They also had 13 CSCAA Scholar All-Americans and the team was given CSCAA Scholar-All American status.
