  • Wednesday, February 25- Saturday, February 28
  • MIT Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center- Cambridge, MA
  • Prelims/Finals Wednesday-8 PM, Thursday-Saturday 11 AM/7PM (Eastern Time Zone)
  • Championship Central

After a dominant first night, CCSU looked to build upon their lead going into finals on night two. Wagner’s Maggie Shaw wasn’t going to make that easy, though, with her dominant win in the 500 free (4:58.38). Sacred Heart’s Jillian Crosby would finish in second (5:02.02), to just out touch BRYU’s Erin Daly (5:02.09).

Not stopping there, the 200 IM featured Wagner’s Anu Nihipail touching first in the 2:01.88. CCSU’s Maddy Garber (2:05.17) and Stephanie Czulewicz (2:05.43) finished 2-3, but this was Nihipail’s race from the beginning. Nihipail would end up dropping 3.47 seconds from her entry time.

CCSU was looking to get their first victory of the night when Helene Neuhaus dove into the middle of the pool for the 50 free. The top seed coming into the meet, Catherine Rogers (SFU), brought her A game to finals, and she ended up with the NEC title (23.39). Neuhaus finished in 23.47 and Sam Sides (WAG) finished in third (23.59). The 1-meter diving event helped out CCSU, though, with Kaitlyn Beaver (225.75) and Annemarie Durham (224.25) finishing 1-2.

Closing out the night, Wagner would finish ahead of CCSU in the 200 free relay. Anu Nihipali, Kristine Sullivan, Corinne Rondina, and Sam Sides won in a time of 1:34.63. CCSU would finish close behind in 1:35.07. Going into day three CCSU only has a 48 point lead over Wagner. After two commanding wins from Wagner, CCSU will have to be careful or they could easily see their lead slip away.
