Bowling Green State University women’s swimming and diving team is on a recruiting roll. The Falcons had a flurry of activity last week as they received verbal commitments from three swimmers: Monona Martin, Gabby Loeck, and Shaunna Jones.

She swims for Gator Swim Club outside of high school, and her 2015-16 swim season ended on a high note at Orlando Sectionals with a 12th place in the 50m free, 7th in the 100 free, 8th in the 200 free, 48th in the 100 back, and 38th in the 100 fly and 200 IM. Her SCY bests include:

“I am excited to continue my swim career at Bowling Green State University.  During my visit, I was impressed with how welcoming the team and coaching staff was.  I am looking forward to being part of this team! I am certain that BGSU will help me achieve all of my goals – both in the pool and in the classroom. GO FALCONS!”

Loeck is a backstroke/freestyle specialist from DeForest, Wisconsin. A senior at DeForest High School, she placed 5th in the 100 back and 8th in the 200 IM at the 2015 Wisconsin Girls Division 2 State Championships. She was a member of DeForest’s state-winning 200 medley relay in 2014 and has had top-10 finishes in the 100 backstroke in each of her three years.

Loeck swims year-round for Madison Aquatic Club. She dropped time in nearly all her events in both short-course and long-course seasons this year. At the Wisconsin 13 & Over Long Course State Championships she came in 6th in the 50m free, 8th in the 100m back, 9th in the 200m back, and 15th in the 200m IM. Her top SCY times are:
