Big 12 ‘B’ Finalist Nora Hetyei Joining FGCU This Fall After Two Seasons With Houston

Nora Hetyei has announced she will transfer to FGCU for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. Hetyei spent her first two season at Houston.

The Hungarian native most recently competed at the 2025 Big 12 Championships. She swam to three ‘B’ final finishes, including 10th place finishes in the 200 fly (1:59.83) and 400 IM (4:18.86). Both of those swims marked personal best times. She also was 14th in the 200 IM in a 2:01.33, just off her best of a 2:00.74 that she swam at midseason in November 2024.

As a freshman, Hetyei swam to a 9th place finish in the 200 IM (2:01.25) to highlight her 2024 Big 12 Championships. She also finished 14th in the 200 back and 18th in the 400 IM.

Hetyei’s Best SCY Times:

  • 200 fly: 1:59.83
  • 200 back: 1:58.86
  • 200 IM: 2:00.73
  • 400 IM: 4:18.86

The FGCU women swam to a 2nd place finish at the 2025 ASUN Championships with 690 points. Liberty won the conference title with 858.5 points. Isabelle Ackley led the way for FGCU with conference wins in the 100 back (52.61) and 200 back (1:54.87).

Based on her best times, Hetyei will make an immediate impact at the conference level. Her best time in the 200 fly would have been 3rd, her 400 IM would have been 4th, and her 200 back and 200 IM best times would have been 5th at the ASUN Championships. The team had no ‘A’ finalists in the 200 butterfly so Hetyei’s arrival helps fill a gap there.

Also set to join the team this fall as a transfer is Aislyn Barnett who will arrive for her junior season as well. Barnett spent two years at Auburn and primarily specializes in breaststroke.
