BALTIMORE, Md. – Army West Point swimming & diving completed its final dual meet of the regular season on Friday as the Black Knights took down the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds on both the men’s and women’s sides.
Army claimed wins on both the men’s and women’s sides with 26 of the total 32 possible first place finishes of the day with an even 13 each for Army’s men and women.
Women: Army 199, Loyola Maryland 101
Army’s women put on a commanding performance in Baltimore, beginning with the diving events where Hadley Futch earned two first place finishes. The freshman diver scored a 280.35 on the one-meter board and a 275.25 on the three-meter board.
Catriona Gilmore earned a bevy of points for the Black Knights with a trio of first place finishes and a third-place finish. She first helped Army win the women’s 200 medley relay (1:41.16) before finishing third in the women’s 200 free (1:53.26). From there she swept the breaststroke events with first place finishes in the 100 breast (1:02.17) and the 200 breast (2:17.14), leading Army to a podium sweep in the 200 breast as freshmen Eden Chuang (2:20.70) and April Chun (2:22.58) finished second and third, respectively.
Molly Webber added to Army’s tally with two first place finishes and a second-place finish. She first dominated the day’s long-distance event with a 16:39.02 in the 1650 free to earn the win by more than 20 seconds before clocking a 23.44 in the 50 free to finish second. Webber rounded out her day in Baltimore with a 2:01.79 in the women’s 200 IM to claim first place.
Sophomore Angie McKane added a further trio of top finishes to the Black Knights’ score with a first place finish as the leadoff in Army’s 200 medley relay, a second place finish in the women’s 100 breast (1:02.82) just behind Gilmore, and a first place finish in the women’s 100 fly (53.28).
Men: Army 178, Loyola Maryland 122
Army’s men delivered impressive results of their own to claim the victory over the Greyhounds. Jack McDaniel and Alex Zhang earned first place on the diving boards as McDaniel earned a 313.35 on the one-meter board and Zhang tallied a 305.63 on the three-meter board. Firstie Lucas Mowry qualified for the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships with his score of 303.00 on the one-meter board.
Kohen Rankin put up big points for the Black Knights with three first place finishes as he earned a 1:26.00 in the men’s 200 medley relay, a 52.78 in the men’s 100 breast, and a 1:57.20 in the men’s 200 breast.
Sophomore Johnny Crush added two first place finishes and a second place finish to Army’s score as he helped Army win the men’s 200 medley relay as the leadoff swimmer, clocked a 45.73 in the men’s 100 back to finish first, and earned second place in the men’s 50 free on a 20.32 behind teammate Ben Vorthmann who finished first on a 20.26.
Thomas Hadji earned a pair of first-place finishes for the Black Knights with a 1:37.77 in the men’s 200 free and a 43.87 in the men’s 100 free.

BALTIMORE – Loyola University Maryland men’s and women’s swimming and diving wrapped up their dual meet schedules Friday against Army West Point in meets the Black Knights won 199–101 on the women’s side and 178–122 in the men’s competition at the Mangione Aquatic Center.
The Greyhounds opened the meet with multiple top‑five relay finishes against Army West Point. On the women’s side, Loyola’s A 200 medley relay of Christine Datovech, Bryce Gold, Haley Robinson and Gianna Davis finished second in 1:42.24, while the Greyhounds’ C relay placed fourth in 1:45.19 and the B relay finished fifth in 1:45.71.
The men’s 200 medley relay team of Joe Hayburn, Brennan Coyle, Hans Van Lierop and Derek Feldman took second in 1:26.19, with Loyola’s B relay placing third in 1:28.72 and the C relay finishing fifth in 1:31.03.
In distance freestyle, Ellie Davis led Loyola in the women’s 1650 freestyle by placing fifth in 17:36.01, followed by Adrianna Caponiti in sixth at 17:45.96 and Elsie Bredbenner in seventh in 18:06.33. On the men’s side, Kiernan Leary finished second in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 15:59.93, while Chase Garcia placed third in 16:06.22 and Cody Miles finished fourth in 16:07.23.
Michela Schultz captured Loyola’s first individual victory by winning the women’s 200 freestyle in 1:52.78. Cecilia Van Lierop added a fourth‑place finish in 1:53.50, while Madison Testa placed sixth in 1:55.53. In the men’s 200 freestyle, Thomas Cechini finished second in 1:40.58, Tyler Knurek placed third in 1:40.59, and Gavin Abelende took fourth in 1:40.64.
Datovech led Loyola in the women’s 100 backstroke with a second‑place finish in 56.21, followed closely by Maeve Brandenburg in third at 56.62. Kelly Bruen added a sixth‑place finish in 57.39. For the men, Hayburn placed second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 46.42, while JD Moyer finished third in 49.11 and Ben Schlotterer took fifth in 50.65.
Hannah Oslislo highlighted Loyola’s effort in the women’s 100 breaststroke by finishing third in 1:04.92, with Meghan Donovan placing fifth in 1:05.45 and Bryce Gold finishing sixth in 1:05.68. In the men’s 100 breaststroke, Michael Venit took third in 54.60, while Jack Hathaway finished fourth in 55.81.
Riley Fried led Loyola in the women’s 200 butterfly with a second‑place time of 2:03.18, followed by Faith Karr in fourth at 2:08.13 and Sammy Yerkes in sixth in 2:08.86. Luke Dwyer paced the men by winning the 200 butterfly in 1:47.44, while Cameron Shinnick finished second in 1:50.05 and Timmy King placed fifth in 1:54.16.
Robinson won the women’s 50 freestyle in 23.22, with Gianna Davis placing fourth in 23.87 and Gabby Jones finishing seventh in 24.55. In the men’s 50 freestyle, Brennan Coyle finished third in 20.57, Derek Feldman took fourth in 20.58, and Hans Van Lierop placed fifth in 20.68.
On the boards, Calista Fasser placed second for Loyola in women’s 3‑meter diving with a score of 255.23, while Annie Dockx finished fourth with 238.28 points. Thomas McCarthy led Loyola in men’s 1‑meter diving by placing third with a score of 295.58.
Cecilia Van Lierop paced Loyola in the women’s 100 freestyle with a third‑place time of 52.29, followed by Robinson in fourth at 52.51 and Davis tied for sixth in 52.72. Coyle led the men’s 100 freestyle by finishing third in 45.16, while Liam Schindler placed fourth in 45.35 and Derek Feldman took fifth in 45.71.
Lauren Lane highlighted the women’s 200 backstroke by finishing second in 2:02.08, while Grace Dwyer added a fifth‑place finish in 2:05.80. Hayburn won the men’s 200 backstroke in 1:44.63, with JD Moyer placing third in 1:49.98 and Ben Schlotterer finishing fourth in 1:51.56.
In the women’s 200 breaststroke, Noelle Hoffman finished fourth in 2:23.54 with Meghan Donovan close behind in fifth at 2:23.95. Venit led Loyola in the men’s 200 breaststroke by placing third in 2:03.12.
Faith Karr placed third for Loyola in the women’s 500 freestyle with a time of 5:07.11, while Adrianna Caponiti finished fifth in 5:11.20. Kiernan Leary added a second‑place finish in the men’s 500 freestyle in 4:37.57, with Hayden Bartz finishing fourth in 4:38.28.
Datovech finished second in the women’s 100 butterfly in 54.89, while Schultz placed third in 56.46. Luke Dwyer led Loyola again in the men’s 100 butterfly with a third‑place time of 49.06, followed by Hans Van Lierop in fourth at 49.09.
Fried placed second in the women’s 200 individual medley in 2:07.48, while Kate O’Brien finished sixth in 2:10.61. Kaden Fatta led Loyola in the men’s 200 IM by placing third in 1:54.99.
Loyola closed the meet with a victory in the women’s 400 freestyle relay as Datovech, Davis, Schultz and Robinson touched first in 3:26.75. The men followed suit as Hayburn, Schindler, Coyle and Feldman won the 400 freestyle relay in 2:57.59.
